In the last few years, the public has become more sensitive to the experiences of individuals who identify as transgender/gender non-binary, and their perspectives have gained more visibility. Researchers have started to take steps to ensure that individuals, regardless of gender identity, are comfortable participating in research. Join us in this moderated panel discussion where HSO staff, community members, and researchers will discuss:
- Introductory information about gender identity
- How to represent  transgender and gender non-binary subjects in HawkIRB
- Researcher and community member perspectives on respectful research interactions with transgender/gender non-binary participants
Pre-registration is recommended.
Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to attend all University of Iowa- sponsored events. If you are a person with a disability who requires a reasonable accommodation in order to participate in this program, please contact the Human Subjects Office in advance at (319) 335-6564.
